Introducing the ‘Trained For You’ service

Do you wish you had more time, skill or consistency to give to your dog’s training? Like the idea of getting additional help to get things moving faster and more successfully but not wanting to commit to full residential training?

I’m happy to say I have the answer just for you! Introducing my trained for you service. It bridges the gap between me coming and helping you with a training plan for you to implement and you sending your dog away to a residential training centre for a month or mores intense training. Your dog stays at home, you keep an eye on them and their training and you learn along with them - but I come and take a percentage of the training burden. More consistency, a more experienced pair of hands and a proper structured program might be just what you need to get over the hump in the road you are facing with your dogs training and behaviour.

This is going to suit dogs with a variety of training and behaviour needs, including dog to dog reactivity, people reactivity, poor recall, pulling on lead, excessive barking and any more general training issues.

So how does this all work, what’s involved and how much does it all cost?

How it works….

After an initial assessment I will put together a full training program for your dog that is specific to them and your training goals. This will cover 5 days a week, I can deliver 3, 4 or 5 of those days Monday to Friday depending on how much support you want from me. The weekends will be up to you, but with guidance from me as to what to do with your dog on those days to keep the training momentum up. It would be great if at least 1 session a week you were able to join me with your dog so that you could also skill yourself up and see your dog’s progress.

We will record your dogs progress every day in their training record book and you will get regular photos and videos from me on their progress and what they have been up to. They will either have their own daily session (if that’s what they need) or they will come out in the van with me and some other dogs for a few hours and get their training in that way. I’ll usually be taking them for training between the hours of 10-3. But there’s flexibility both ways in timings.

So what will I need to do?

You’ll need to keep up with any management I ask you to put in place for your dog to help their training, for example if they like to bark out of windows at passing dogs and we are working on dog reactivity, I might ask you restrict their access to those windows for a period of time, and then you will be responsible for however many training days you choose to take on for the week. That might be 1, 2 or 3 or none at all if you want me to help 5 days a week.

You’ll need to provide their walking gear like collars and harnesses and be willing to invest in a piece of kit if I really think it will help. That might be a head collar or a different harness for example. You can to provide all the food, toys and gear for training or you can leave that to me at an additional cost but with a decent discount off retail price. I’ll provide a lot of the bigger bits of kit, like crates for the van and training platforms and boundaries so no need to worry about that. Just think consumables and wearables - but again I can sort as much of this for you as you like at additional cost.

How much?

You’ll need to invest in a minimum of 20 hours training to be taken over a maximum of 6 weeks (with flex for any holidays etc) and you can buy more hours up front for less.

Prices start at £355 for 20 hours

For reference….

Average cost of 12 week residential training - £2000 +

Cost of 12 weeks at 5 days a week with me - £1050
