Bringing a working breed or high energy dog into a pet home can be more challenging than you expected. Simple obedience training often doesn’t cut it when it comes to living happily together.
But there is a recipe for success and a calmer fulfilled dog, leading to a less stressed human.
Option 1 - Coaching Program
Ready to join a coaching program which is designed specifically to help you start to live life with your dog again? Taking a whole dog approach we will break down what is truly causing your dog’s issues rather than just treat the symptoms.
With a two hour kickstart session, regular one to ones and group support sessions with the whole coaching community, you will gain the knowledge, skills and support you need to have a great life with your dog.
This program runs both online and in person or a combination of the two.
Coaching Case Study
-
Smudge, a 1 year old Border Collie X Golden Retriever had become unmanageable on walks and despite Sally’s years of experience with dogs she was struggling to build a bond with her.
After identifying some pain issues, making some changes to her diet and lifestyle we got to work using her desire to work and high play drive teach her to regulate her emotions through play.
Then layering on some obedience work, improving her loose lead walking and building a strong recall based on play she started to get the outlets and exercise she needed to settle at home.
Sally continues to attend social walks and scent club where Smudge is improving her sometimes spicy behaviour around dogs on lead on a weekly basis!
Option 2 - Trained For You
Feel like training your dog is an impossible task? Why not let me step in and take the strain? I’ll spend a month working with your dog 4 days a week to build foundation skills quickly, allowing you to take over and build from a much better place.
Ideal for busy people or those who feel like their relationship with their dog has really broken down. Or let’s face it, people who just want quicker easier results!
This option is only available to dogs in the Peebles and Innerleithen area, it is not a residential service.

Milo, a 3yo Labrador had become too much handle on walks. Excessive pulling and resting to other dogs and people. His owners had tried local training classes but found they put them in even more conflict with him.
In a month he learnt to walk on a loose lead, started on a strong recall, reached his reactions to dogs and introduced some breed specific outlets to help him bec me less frustrated in the future.

You and your dog will be training without the use of ‘tools’ like e-collars, prong collars or slip leads.
We will be using positive reinforcement and correct management as our main path to success. Expect to use plenty of food rewards and play to help you build a solid training foundation.
I don’t believe dog training is realistic when it’s all unicorns and rainbows and in my experience pain and intimidation is also simply not needed. Common sense, kindness and results are my main aims.
